Orchid repotting · Orlando, Florida

What happens inside the pot matters.

In-home orchid repotting with careful root inspection, removal of deteriorated material, and a fresh growing setup selected for the plant’s condition.

Professional repotting

A process shaped by the orchid.

Repotting is not a one-size-fits-all task. Species, plant size, root condition, old medium, and the client’s growing environment all influence the approach.

  • Removal from the old container and medium
  • Detailed root and plant inspection
  • Careful removal of compromised roots and material
  • Fresh medium appropriate for the plant
  • Standard potting materials included
  • Evaluation of light, airflow, watering, and placement
  • Optional decorative pots available for purchase

After your service

What to expect after orchid repotting.

A short adjustment period can be normal after repotting, especially when damaged roots or deteriorated material had to be removed. Some visible changes may look concerning before the orchid begins showing signs of active growth.

01 · Temporary stress

Some changes can be expected.

Flowers may fade or fall sooner than usual, and leaves can become slightly wrinkled, particularly after extensive root work.

02 · New growth

Look beyond the older leaves.

Older growth may still show stress while a fresh leaf or new shoot indicates that the orchid is moving forward.

03 · New roots

The most encouraging sign.

An active green root tip shows that the orchid is growing and beginning to establish in its fresh medium.

Every orchid recovers at its own pace.

Timing varies with the orchid type, season, previous root condition, and growing environment. New roots may appear relatively soon, but there is no fixed timeline that applies to every plant.

Pricing

Why estimates vary.

The cost depends on the species, plant size, root condition, amount of old material to remove, container requirements, and overall complexity.

A few clear photos usually provide enough information for a free initial estimate. If the plant’s condition cannot be evaluated accurately from photos, we will explain what additional information is needed.
